Trash Free Trails X Gear Labs

Early on in the building of Gear Labs, we wanted to support a cause that was important to us as a company. As mountain bikers, enduro motorcyclists, and trail runners, partnering with Trash Free Trails made a lot of sense to us.

Trash Free Trails has a mission to ‘(re)connect people with nature through the simple yet meaningful act of removing single-use pollution from wild places’. The aim is to ask those on the trails to report the trash seen, and feed this back to Trash Free Trails who can then coallate this data into their own reports. In doing so encouraging the reconnection with nature as well as utilising citizen science.

We first entered into a partnership with Trash Free Trails with an open mind, how could we support them utilising our own skill base? Our main tasks have been the automation of marketing communications and improving the UX for new community members. Ultimately, taking the skills and strategies we’ve learned through our years in e-commerce to help promote and therefore increase trail cleans and reporting of data.

We’ve been working together for over a year now and it’s been great to see our support create a positive impact for Trash Free Trails.

“Gear Labs have been instrumental to helping us up our game at Trash Free Trails. They've generously shared their expert knowledge on e-commerce and traditional marketing tactics and helped us creatively adapt these strategies towards empowering and emboldening our community of volunteers to participate. As a small team, building agility is crucial to achieving our mission - Gear Labs have helped us do just that!” Rach, Trash Free Trails

Last week we headed to Redbull HQ in London for the Our Trails Gathering with Trash Free Trails, along with other partner brands, Trash Free Trails ambassadors and like minded individuals ‘to create positive change’ through conversation and activities.

“Following our digital support over the past year, it was great to join the TFT community for their in-person event in Seven Dials. From inspiring talks to engaging activities, it was fantastic to collaborate with a group of like-minded people from a host of interesting brands and initiatives.” Ollie Boulton, Gear Labs
