The UCI Yellow Card is officially in effect…
The UCI has handed out the first official Yellow Cards at the Santos Tour Down Under both in the men’s and women’s, after an initial trial period in 2024, the system is now in full effect with multiple Yellow Cars leading to ejection from races and suspensions. The aim is to create a safe racing environment for the riders, but there is scepticism and concern that the UCI will not be able to ensure that yellow cards are handed out in a fair and even manner.
